Equine Bowen Therapy

Rachel Flynn is a certified Equine Bowen Therapist.  In her spare time she volunteers to treat horses from "Horses With Hope Horse Rescue".

"Rachel donates spare time in working on many of my rescue horses.  I have found that Rachel's Bowen treatments are very effective and we have amazing results.  I would recommend Rachel to any horse owner.  Horses come to me with different problems and they all benefit from Bowen.  I have found that horses that don’t necessarily need a Bowen treatment still benefit, their behaviour and temperament are noticeably different.  All of my horse's love Bowen and are excited when they see Rachel; once the treatment has started my horses relax, even those that are nervous in nature."

What is Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a manual body technique used to treat and/or prevent injury or disorder to maintain the optimum level of health in the recipient.  A treatment consists of the application of sequences of cross-fibre movements on the soft tissue of the body, in particular muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue (fascia).

These "cross fibre" moves can be applied for both acute and chronic conditions.  Bowen not only assists the soft tissue to overcome problems, but also due to its apparent influence on the body's energy and meridian systems, it has an effect on the body's organs and their functions.

Bowen Therapy can effectively assist the body to regain its natural range of movement and balance.  It acts as a catalyst for the body to activate the natural healing process.

Bowen Therapy assist's with:
Relief of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain
Improved circulation
Improved lymphatic drainage
Elimination of toxins
Improved joint mobility
Improved posture
Uneven gate
Stiffness & Cold backed muscles
Deterioration in performance
Sudden change in temperament

This is a Bowen treatment on a thoroughbred gelding that is an active type, he yawned throughout this session and is pictured here falling asleep.  His owner saw immediate results with him.
